Throwback Thursday

I was recently introduced to the idea of Throwback Thursday, and it seemed like a bit of fun so I decided to partake.

This picture is of the first pet I had after I moved out into the world. We found this guy at the pet store in the feeder rat bin (for snakes and such for those who don't know what that is) and we decided to rescue him so he didn't become snake chow. We named him Brian and he lived with us for 3 years before he died, we suspect of some sort of cancer. He was an amazing companion and we loved him dearly.

But now I'm all feely and such, so I'm going to wrap this up. This was my Throwback Thursday, and I would love it if you shared yours as well. Til next time!

    1. Basically, you just take something from your past and share it with your readers. Kind of a way to gradually get to know each other.

  2. Aww it reminds me of Bert the Squirrel whom my grampa and I rescued as a newborn after his mother died. Bert died a month later :(

    1. Oh, that's so sad. It's very difficult to care for critters that are so young. I grew up in the country and tried to save newborn critters (bunnies, squirrels, etc.) a few times, and it didn't ever work out well for me. :(

    1. Thanks! And it's so sad that rats don't have a longer life span, they are such great pets.

  4. Brian was the best name choice! It looks like it suited him. :) My first pet was a hamster that I called Woody because he lived in woodchips. Obviously, not the most age-appropriate name. Haha!

    1. The name suited him ridiculously well. :) And I think Woody is a great name for a hamster, age-appropriate or not, haha.

    1. They are so wonderful, I would like another but I think my cats would have an issue with me moving a rodent into the house. It's so sad that they don't live longer, they're great pets.

    2. They are very clever pets. But it should be difficult to have rodent and cat at the same place :)

    3. Yes it should. And my orange kitty makes sure that no rodents get past the threshold. :)
