Make Up For Ever Three Steps to a Perfect Lip

And today marks the start of my individual reviews from my recent Sephora haul. Yay for late night motivation!! I'm going to start with the Make Up For Ever Three Steps to a Perfect Lip Red Lip Set. Let me start by saying, holy cow this is a great deal! This kit sells for $28 USD and it includes a full size MUFE Aqua Lip Liner in 8C, a full size MUFE Lab Shine Star Collection in S8, and a full size MUFE Rouge Artist Lipstick in whatever shade you want. These products sell individually for $18 USD a piece (I think the lipstick is actually $19..) so this is a $55 value for $28. Totally awesome, especially if you haven't had a chance to try out the MUFE lip products. This kit is also available in berry and a nude/pink if red isn't your cup of tea.
Before I get too deep into this review, I would like to say that I didn't get a red lipstick to go with this kit, so I'm going to be reviewing the lipstick in this kit in a different review. However, I do have a sample of MUFE Rouge Artist Intense 43, which is one of the red lipsticks they recommend to use with this kit, so you'll get to see the desired look. I love Sephora for their samples. :)
So let's start with the Aqua Lip. According to the packaging this is "An ultra creamy, smudge-proof lip liner with a long lasting result." And their application tip is "For a long lasting lip, line and completely fill in lip before applying Rouge Artist."
The packaging is pretty standard for a lip liner, though they do put all of the product details on the pencil which not everyone feels the need to do and I really appreciate.
The pencil swatched nicely and has a really good color pay off. And it is one of those liners where you can build it up or play it down depending on how much pressure you use and how many coats you use. The only bummer about this liner is it does dry my lips out a little and the texture is kind of gritty. This issue is easily resolved by putting lip gloss over the liner though, so it's all good in my book.
The liner glides on quite well with no feathering. It's very precise and makes for a very well defined lip. And it does have some long lasting power, this stuff does not budge! I'm not one to wear liner on it's own, but this product left me very pleased.
MUFE's description for the Rouge Artist Intense is "A highly pigmented, long lasting lipstick that delivers rich color in one stroke." And the application tip "For the best result, apply with a lip brush (not included). Place the lipstick in the center of the lips and blend outward."
The packaging is again pretty standard and not really worth mentioning. It's functional, and that's what I care about.
I LOVE this lipstick! It swatches so easily and looks absolutely gorgeous. The texture is creamy and it really does just glide on. And the color is highly pigmented with a beautiful satin finish. This lipstick never makes my lips feel dry or cakey, and after I applied it over the liner, it helped balance out the dryness left from the liner. But I could seriously go on forever about how much I love this red lipstick. The intensity is just phenomenal.
The lipstick doesn't feather and it lasts for around 4 hours on it's own. It's gorgeous, and I love it.
And last, but not least, the MUFE Lab Shine S8. The packaging description is "A light textured gloss with spectacular shine and a pop of color. Leaves lips supple and hydrated." And their tip is "For added dimension, apply Lab Shine to the center of the lip." I personally just used the gloss all over my lips, but I was feeling shiny today.
I really like this lip gloss. Instead of a doe foot applicator, it actually has a nice short brush for precision lining. And the actual container of the product is glass so you can see the color as you're looking for it. And being that I just throw all my lippies in a makeup bag, that's pretty helpful to me.
The color is totally beautiful. While the red color is a bit sheer (it does say it's just a pop of color) the shimmer mixed through the gloss is delightful. It really gives the gloss a lot of dimension. And the texture for this gloss is perfect. It's not thick and sticky or thin and greasy, it's just very light weight and SUPER hydrating.
And here's the liner, with the lipstick and topped with the Lab Shine. It's a perfect mix of reds; it's intense, with high shine and a little bit of shimmer. My lips almost look wet, even after I've been wearing it for a few hours.
This lip kit is a total bargain and I absolutely love it! I didn't find it for sale on Sephora's website, but I did pick it up at a Sephora in J.C. Penny's, so maybe that had something to do with it. I would highly recommend this MUFE Red Lip Kit to anyone who is looking for the perfect red lip or just looking to play with MUFE's line of lip products. I hope to pick up the other 2 kits as well, but we need to get our truck fixed up first, so here's hoping I get to the other kits before they're off the shelves.
Hope you all enjoyed my review! There will be more coming up soon, so subscribe so as not to miss out. And as always, feel free to drop a comment below and let me know what you think. Hope you all have a lovely weekend. Til next time!

  6. Great deal and a beautiful, sexy look for the lips. I never really wear red lips as I don't think they suit me but I wish they did because some reds, like this one, I absolutely adore the look of. I cam by via the ILMP blog hop and now follow on GFC, I also followed on she said beauty as you, like me don't have many followers on there. I hope you can visit my blog and maybe follow back in the same ways if you like what you see.

And this really is such a great deal, I was totally thrilled when I found it. And for the longest time I didn't think I could wear red lips either. You just have to find the shade that fits you best and have the attitude to wear it.
