Looking for Some Healthy Advice

Alright ladies, I am looking for some serious healthy advice here. I gained a ton of weight when I was pregnant with my daughter, and until recently I haven't really worked on losing all that weight. I've been working on eating better and doing little bits of exercise when I have extra time, and I lost around 20 lbs (around 9 kilograms) which is great, but I've plateaued.
So I really need to add something to my current weight loss regimen to get the last 20 - 30 pounds off. I've been thinking that when the warmer weather starts rolling in, I should start jogging. But I'm not really sure how to get started with it. I know that sounds silly, it's just running, but I'm still dreadfully out of shape and I've never been a jogger and I'm sure that I need to pace myself and do certain stretches and what not to avoid injuring myself.
So please, if you have any advice on how to get into jogging, drop me a comment below or hit me up on Twitter @KashmirSeaside and let me know. I'll really take any advice on how to drop weight and keep it off because I really want to be healthy for me and my family. I want to be able to set a good example of healthy living for my daughter. Thanks in advance! Til next time!

  1. Be careful with jogging, it puts lots of stress on your joints.
Bike riding is a good one, and it helps over that plateau without putting unnecessary stress on your joints.
Yoga , of course, is another good one, tones your muscles and helps flexibility.

Great job on the loss you've had so far!
Maybe get out to some parks once it warms up and go for long walks :)

    1. Haha, you have never seen me on a bike. I am terrible on a bicycle and have been my entire life. But I have some glucosamine chondroitin to keep my joints healthy while I jog and some super bitchin running shoes.
And I do yoga after Penny goes to sleep, I just want to do something that'll get me a little more ripped.
      And thanks for the compliment!!

  2. When I started jogging I would speed walk 100 steps, jog 100, then repeat. I find jogging really dull and the counting helped the time pass lol.......Then without thinking the jogging got longer and in the end I was just jogging. Stretches before you start, slow walking at the end to cool down, a few more stretches from top to toe and your done. Good way to stretch out those legs, find some steps and climb them two or three at a time, does great things for the bottom end.

    1. I should have mentioned you can do any ratio to get into jogging. 20/20, 50/50 whatever you can comfortably cope with. :o)

    2. Thank you so much, this is incredibly helpful information! I used to speed walk like crazy and I do yoga, but aside from that I am pretty clueless as to how to exercise safely. Thanks again, and I'm for sure checking out your link!

  4. I was visiting my doctor few weeks ago with almost same problem and she said that I should start from diet.. And then exercises... I hope that Spring will help me with more fresh food and more time outside.

    1. I've been working on improving my diet for the past few months, it's responsible for the majority of my weight loss up to this point. And I am hoping that spring will help jump start my weight loss with more time outside as well.

    1. I do my best to eat clean, but my kid and my husband pretty well hate anything healthy and I don't always have time to make 2 meals for us. So I just portion the not so good for me food and eat a heaping serving of veggies with it.
