Jessica Chastain Oscar Makeup Using Drugstore Products

So my lovely friends Shannon and Kate who I did my Sephora haul with talked me into doing a collaborative piece with them where we each picked a celebrity from the Oscars and recreated their look using only drugstore products. This was a bit daunting for me as I really don't have a lot of drugstore products to choose from. In fact, I had to cheat a little because I don't have a single drugstore mascara, but I used a deluxe sample that I got for free with a promo code so it's all good.

I decided to recreate Jessica Chastain's makeup as she looked absolutely gorgeous at the Oscars and I actually had all the products I needed to make her look. Keep in mind that my hair is super short and layered, so I didn't even kind of try to do her hair style.

Here's her look:

And my look:

Now I know this isn't a perfect recreation, but considering what I had to work with, I think I did a pretty good job. I refrained from wearing false lashes as my eyes have been a little on the sensitive side lately, her eyeshadow was a little more gold and her lipstick was a little more of a blue toned red, but I did what I could.
And here's what I used: I mixed the foundation with my moisturizer to get a slightly more dewy look, then used the blush from the e.l.f. Contouring Blush and Bronzer Cream and just barely dabbed it on the apples of my cheek, used the e.l.f. Cover All stick to hide any redness, and topped it with the Cover Girl loose powder. Then I used the e.l.f. Eye Lid Primer and topped it with the 2 gold/tan shades from the Maybelline quad (Enchanted Forest) and used the highlight end of the e.l.f. concealer/highlighter duo on my brow bone. Then it was just a thin line of the e.l.f. cream liner in black, my Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes! on the upper lashes only and the red e.l.f. Lipstick on my lips.

I hope you all enjoyed my Oscar themed makeup, it was definitely a mini challenge for me. Feel free to leave a comment below and let me know what you think of it, and if you like what you see please subscribe. I really do love hearing from you guys and your comments make my day. Make sure to check out Kate and Shannon's blogs as well to see who they chose for their Oscar makeup. Til next time!

    1. Thanks! I was a little bummed that I was supposed to use all drugstore products as I had some high end stuff that would have worked better for the look, but it turned out pretty well.

  7. You have a good eye for imitation. I think you nailed it. Have you tried any natural cosmetics rather than drugstore brands? If you'd like to I invite you to check us out at healthynaturalcosmetics.com. We even include vegan lipstick. Thanks for the tips.

    1. I don't think I've tried any all natural makeup, though I usually buy high end makeup not drugstore. My friends set the rules for this tag.

Thanks for the compliment! I was worried that I was a little too off on this one. :)
