I have never been a fan of liquid foundation. I find it to be very thick and "pancakey" and I can tell that it looks like I am wearing a mask. It's just awful. However, in my last Sephora haul I received a free sample of Clinique's tinted moisturizer and I loved it. I mean really loved it. It was super light and gave just enough coverage to balance out my coloring. But being that I generally only wear a loose powder in my day to day routine, I can't justify spending money on a product that will get minimal use from me. Which brought up my foundation dilemma. Well.... Maybe "dilemma" is a bit harsh, but I like my skin looking awesome, so sue me.
I was looking in my make up bag yesterday and was trying to figure out what I had that would give me the same results as the Clinique stuff, and it hit me. And I mean hit me like "duh" not some sort of epiphany. I decided to mix this Sephora full coverage foundation with my regular moisturizer (I think it's Clean and Clear Morning Burst) and I just applied it like I would apply my moisturizer every morning and it was flawless. Also, because the foundation was the color in the moisturizer blend I made it made it super easy to blend in extra foundation over a minor breakout and to get a matte but totally natural look under my eyes. Another perk, you can adjust to take into account the level of coverage you need on a day to day basis.
I found this to be a super easy and awesome little technique. It goes on really light and is easy to blend (no more sreaky foundation!) and is super versatile. If you decide to try this technique out and like it (or hate it) leave me a comment and let me know how it worked for you!
